“I had the privilege to join the 2016/17 class of Master of Accountancy (MAcc) programme at the School of Accountancy of CUHK as a solicitor having been practising for over 10 years and a mature student having had completed the QP of the HKICPA. While it is so different in terms of learning methods and required skill-sets from legal studies to accountancy’s, it has an important resemblance between the two – the requirement of critical analysis ability. The programme provides plentiful elective modules which test one’s analytical competence. It is awesome while you think you know a great deal, you may in fact have only acquainted with the rim of a universe in a topic. MAcc programme gives an opportunity to one to have a reflection to his or her already-acquired knowledge and meanwhile challenges thereto in order to concatenate the same, while it also brings new areas of interests to the earth for one’s exploration. I am pleased to have gone through the process with little hard time and more of enjoyment.

That knowledge is an invaluable asset whose boundary is without limits goes the saying, be it in the legal regime or accountancy’s. You are invited to share my journey of the MAcc programme to experience the amazing time yourself.”

“The MAcc program will equip you with all the essential knowledge needed to prepare for a successful career in the financial world, including extensive training in accounting and finance, useful job hunting sharing from alumni and great internship exposure. Most of the professors are experienced practitioners such as senior partner from big-four accounting firm, senior manager from top investment banks and famous lawyer abroad. You could benefit a lot when they apply the book theory into the real market. I am also grateful to the well-designed and flexible program structure, which allows me to take two unforgettable internships in Pwc and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited. In the program, we treat each other as family members and I felt so lucky to make a group of good friends.”

“Our internship program helped me to acquire a better understanding of accounting area as well as industry. I once took internship in PwC Hong Kong during peak season. I was involved as a chief member in three audit projects in different industries-transportation, bakery and technology. Through the internship, I gain more professional accounting knowledge, a comprehensive industry view and analytical ability used frequently in my current work. My current work needs me to maintain good relationship with our client and deal with different related parties. Career workshops related to make-up, dress code and business writing and alumni sharing on networking tips are very practical and improve my working skills and networking ability.”
