Curriculum

Our dedicated curriculum offers a selected range of courses in information and technology management, databse and big data management, supply chain management, information systems analysis, project management, enterprise resource planning, and decision making etc.


Program of Study

Credit and course requirement are the same for both full-time mode and part-time mode. To complete the program, students are required to pass 30 credits (15 credits of required courses and 15 credits of elective courses).

For part-time mode, some required courses may be offered every alternate year while some courses may be offered in the form of intensive course.

Students are allowed to take up to 6 credits of non-ITM electives.

Non-ITM electives include courses offered by Master of Accountancy (MAcc) Program and other Master of Science (MSc) Programs of Faculty of Business Administration/Faculty of Engineering upon approval. Examples include Customer Relationship Management, Mergers and Acquisitions, Financial Analysis and Security Trading, and Organizational Marketing. There is pre-requisite requirement in some courses.

Remarks 

  1. Students can apply to waive certain required courses (maximum 6 credits) and replace the course with another 3-credit elective course if they have taken similar graduate-level courses, with grade “B” or above. The application is subject to approval.
  2. Students holding Project Management Professional (PMP) credential with active certification status can apply to waive the required course DSME6730I Project Management, subject to approval. Students should take another 3-credit elective course as replacement.
  3. The offering and class capacity of elective courses depends on the arrangement of respective programs, and is subject to change. Enrollment is on first-come-first-served basis and subject to divisions'/course teachers' approval.
  4. DSME6686I Advanced Information Systems Practicum is offered to full-time students only. All meetings and most hands-on sessions are held during office hours.
  5. DSME6790I Technology Field Study is offered to full-time and part-time Year 1 students only. The maximum enrollment number is 26.
  6. There are only few seats offered to ITM students in DSME6620BA, DSME6652BA, DSME6653BA and DSME6654BA.
  7. DSME6730I and DSME6930I have been included in the list of reimbursable courses for Continuing Education Fund.
