Two Teams Take Home First Runner-up and Merit in QP Case Analysis Competition 2017

Two teams of CUHK Business School students achieved remarkable results in the final presentation of The Qualification Programme (QP) Case Analysis Competition on 25 November 2017.

Two teams of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School students were awarded the 1st runner-up and merit award in the final presentation of The Qualification Programme (QP) Case Analysis Competition on 25 November 2017. This is the second consecutive year that CUHK Business School team achieved remarkable results in such a triumphant event that received accolades and support from eminent professionals and academics across the profession.

The winning team comprised four Year 2 undergraduate students, including Hung Shun-yat (Professional Accountancy [PACC]), Chui Chi-hei (Integrated BBA [IBBA]), Wangchuk Sonam Chophel (IBBA) and Yeung Kwun-chung (IBBA). Another team formed by Cheng Biying (PACC, Year 3), Chen Si (Quantitative Finance, Year 3), Chen Ziyao (Global Economics and Finance [GLEF], Year 3) and Wang Cheng-wei (GLEF, Year 3) was awarded the merit team. The teams received not only cash prizes, QP fee waivers and certificates, but also internship placement opportunities in Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firms.

Organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), the QP Case Analysis Competition is an inter-tertiary event aims at developing students’ business skills, cultivating their professional judgment and preparing them for the dynamic business environment. The Competition is designed to bring together students in accounting and business to investigate and analyse a specific business case for a corporation. Through participating in the Competition, students will enhance their analytical competences, problem solving abilities, team building and presentation skills, to bring their talents into full play.
