Biography

Prof. Jing Wu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. His main research fields are the operations-finance interface, economic networks, quantitative investment, and machine learning applications. Prior to joining CUHK, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Sciences at College of Business, City University of Hong Kong (2016-2019). He also worked as a Quantitative Strategist at Deutsche Bank New York (2015-2016). He received his B.Engr in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua and both his MBA and Ph.D. (major in operations, minor in economics & finance) from Chicago Booth.

Gong, Xiting

Biography

Prof. Xiting Gong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics, CUHK Business School, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (by courtesy), at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Prior to joining CUHK, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at The University of Michigan. He received his BSc in Applied Mathematics, and MA and PhD in Management Science, all from Peking University. His research interests lie in operations management, stochastic inventory theory and applications, revenue management and pricing, and approximation and data-driven algorithms. He is an associate editor for Naval Research Logistics.

Hsu, Vernon Ning

Biography

Prof. Vernon Hsu is a Choh-Ming Li Professor of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics in The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. He has also held faculty positions at The University of New South Wales, Australia, George Mason University, US, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Prof. Hsu’s research interests include logistics and supply chain management and the application of optimisation theory in Operations Management and Information Systems. Some of his current research projects investigate the integration of international tax planning with global supply chain design.

Huang, Junfei

Biography

Prof. Junfei Huang joined the Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013. His research interests are in asymptotic analysis and optimal control of queuing systems and their applications in services such as healthcare systems (e.g. emergency departments) and tele-services (e.g. telephone call centres). His work has been published in journals such as Operations Research and Mathematics of Operations Research. His research awards include the Uriel G. Rothblum Prize for Excellent Work in Operations Research by the Operations Research Society of Israel and the MSOM Service Management SIG Best Paper Award.

Biography

Prof. Yang Li joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School in January 2016 after receiving his PhD from Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Prior to his doctoral studies, Prof. Li earned his Master of Applied Science and Master of Science from McMaster University in Canada. Prof. Li’s research interests include service operations, consumer behaviour, supply chain management, and empirical operations management. At CUHK, Prof. Li teaches supply chain and logistics analytics, which focuses on developing supply chain strategies through data analysis.

Zhou, Sean Xiang

Prof. Sean Zhou

Biography

Prof. Sean Zhou is currently a Professor in Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. He is also the Director of the Supply Chain Research Centre under the Asian Institute of Supply Chain and Logistics in CUHK. Prior to joining the Business School, he was a faculty member at Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, CUHK. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University, China in 2001 and his MS and PhD in Operations Research from North Carolina State University in 2002 and 2006, respectively. His main research area is supply chain management with particular interests in inventory control, production planning, dynamic pricing, and game theoretic applications. He serves on the editorial board of IIE Transactions and OR Letters.

Zhu, Kaijie

Biography

Prof. Zhu Kaijie is an Associate Professor in Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He received his PhD degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University in 2002, and his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Automatic Control from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1996 and 1993, respectively. Prior to joining CUHK, Prof. Zhu worked as an Assistant and then Associate Professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 2002 to 2010 and a pre-professional intern at T. J. Watson Research Centre of IBM in 2000. He has research interests in global supply chain management, and his works have been published by Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Services Management, Production and Operations Management, Naval Research Logistics, and European Journal of Operational Research

Gao, Xiangyu

Biography

Prof. Xiangyu Gao joined the Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2017. Before this employment, he obtained his doctoral degree from Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. His research interests include inventory and supply chain management, dynamic pricing and revenue management, applied game theory and cooperation in supply chain. His work has been published and under review in Operations Research and Management Science.

Biography

Prof. Yang Bo joined the Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2017. Prior to this employment, he obtained his doctoral degree in Operations Management from Naveen Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas. His research interests include dynamic programming, math programming, and game theory, with applications in inventory management, capacity management, and the management of resource-sharing systems. His work has been published and under review in Operations Research and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management.
