Finance for Society Research Centre
Overview
The Finance for Society Research Centre (FinSoc) is established in 2024 and housed within the Department of Finance at CUHK Business School. It is an evolution of the Centre for Quantitative Trading (CQT). FinSoc is committed to advancing the integration of technology, data, and finance. It serves as a bridge between academic researchers and industry practitioners, fostering collaboration and innovation. The Centre focuses on developing quantitative investing strategies and enhancing trading structures to improve market quality and efficiency. Through its initiatives, FinSoc aims to drive advancements in the field and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise between academia and industry.
Missions of the Centre
- To transfer knowledge generated from research activities to academic researchers, industry practitioners, and stakeholders.
- To foster local and international collaboration with academics and industry practitioners at other institutions and financial firms.
- To disseminate research outcomes of the Centre and related knowledge to society, to emphasise the research impact of financial innovations and strategies.
- To support studies on various facets of finance, including but not limited to financial inclusion, sustainable finance, behavioral finance, and fintech innovation. It aims to improve market quality and efficiency and understand how finance can effectively serve the needs of society.
- To contribute to the development and practical applications of quantitative investment strategies.
