Housing Exclusion and Behavioural Geography in the Age of AI

This talk provides an overview of the two ongoing research projects at the Lab for Interdisciplinary Spatial Analysis at the University of Cambridge. The first, Mapping and Studying Global Housing Discrimination, investigates patterns of housing exclusion through experimental and observational approaches, combining international and intra-national perspectives. The second, Using Explainable AI in Spatial Analysis to Improve Urban Well-being and Mental Health, applies AI and social data to understand spatial variations in personality and behaviour. These projects bridge housing studies, behavioural geography, and data science, demonstrating how interdisciplinary methods can advance our understanding of social inequality, spatial behaviour, and the foundations of sustainable and inclusive urban development.
