CUHK MBA is honoured to have invited Mr. Yeung Tak-keung, Commissioner for Sports of the Home Affairs Bureau, to speak on the topic “Sports Development and Opportunities in Hong Kong’”on Friday, 14 May 2021. Mr. TK Yeung will cover the Government’s sports policy, sports economy, sports-related opportunities and the Kai Tak Sports Park.

Following Mr. TK Yeung’s sharing, a panel discussion on the sports economy and its economic impact and potentials will follow in the presence of Mr. Alvin Ho, Managing Director, Allivision Partners.

    Mr. Alvin Ho
    Managing Director, Allivision Partners

    Mr. Alvin Ho is an experienced investment principal with track records in private equity. He is skilled in PE-styled investing, deal structuring, due diligence, corporate finance, IPO, and business financial reengineering. Acting as a managing director of a private investment vehicle, he looks to invest and assist several high growth sectors. He serves as a board member for mainboard listed companies across sectors including property development, life services, industrial equipment/logistics, healthcare service and industrial printing. Besides, he is also an investment committee member for well-known funds such as AngelHub, HK’s first SFC regulated investment platform, and the Croucher Foundation. Moreover, he is a volunteer for the CFA Society HK, currently serving as the vice president and secretary. Alvin has authored two Chinese books on the economics of sports, the latest one being “Superstar Economics”. He has been contributing columns to media such as the master-insight.com, Hong Kong Economic Journal, Ming Pao and the SCMP.


    Mr. Yeung Tak-keung
    Commissioner for Sports of the Home Affairs Bureau, HKSAR Government

    Mr. Yeung Tak-keung was appointed the first Commissioner for Sports of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in February 2016. He is responsible for the formulation and implementation of government initiatives and programmes to promote “Sports for All”, support elite sports and enhance Hong Kong’s position as a sports events capital. He also coordinates the planning and provision of sports and recreation facilities, including the development of the Kai Tak Sports Park and projects under the Five-Year Plan for Sports and Recreation Facilities.

    Mr. Yeung has served in different bureaux and departments prior to his appointment to the current post. He was the Equestrian Events Coordinator in 2008, assisting in the organisation of the equestrian events of the Beijing Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Hong Kong. When he served as District Officer in Yuen Long from end 2008 to 2012, he actively promoted sports in the local community particularly among the youth, and led the district to become the overall champion in the biennial Hong Kong Games in 2009 and 2011. He was responsible for the deployment of resources for public works and the government procurement policy during his tenure as Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury from 2013 to 2015
