Redefining Innovation and Entrepreneurship through the Lens of Hospitality in the Experience Economy

This seminar re-examines innovation and entrepreneurship through the distinctive lens of hospitality in the experience economy. Drawing on recent research in the hospitality and tourism industry, Dr Lin will highlight how experience-centric perspectives may challenge traditional assumptions about how ventures shall be created, grow, and generate value in an ecosystem. Special attention will be given to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), showcasing multiple empirical studies that illuminate how hospitality businesses innovate in service design, guest experience, and sustainable practices. These publications will be used to foreground evolving theoretical discussions and to illustrate diverse methodological approaches for future research in innovation and entrepreneurship in experience-driven contexts.
