Remote and hybrid work: State of Knowledge on Performance and Wellbeing
Abstract
Remote and hybrid work arrangements are now a defining feature of the modern workplace. Recent estimates indicate that about 27% of paid days in the U.S are work-from-home days. Globally, the average number of remote workdays is estimated at 1.3 days per week. While these arrangements remain popular among employees, they have generated debate among organizations and politicians. This presentation reports on the current state of knowledge with regard to remote/hybrid work with regard to performance and wellbeing, separating misconception from empirical data. Reflections on equity of access and organizational practice will be included.
