The MBA Mentorship Programme Kick-off Dinner was successfully held on 12 October 2017 at W Hotel, connecting over 150 mentors, mentees and faculty members of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School.

Organised by the CUHK MBA Alumni Association and the Office of MBA and MiM Programmes, the MBA Mentorship Programme offers a special opportunity for students to receive individual attention from seasoned professionals and to apply what has been learned at school to the workplace. This year, not only full-time MBA students but also second year part-time MBA students can apply to be mentees. Their mentors would be CUHK alumni who are engaged or working in ‘active career’ (i.e. employed by a company, is an entrepreneur, a company owner and so on) and have at least 5 years of post-MBA work experience. All the mentees and mentors will also receive a separate coaching session provided by a professional executive coach.

In the nine months and beyond, MBA students will learn their ropes from 63 movers and shakers of the business community under the well-designed MBA Mentorship Programme. The pool of mentors with a variety of profiles means students enjoy a large pool of expertise to draw upon. Many of the mentors are notable business leaders such as chairpersons, CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, managing directors, general managers, presidents and unit heads from leading home-grown and multinational companies as well as successful founders of startups. This supportive mentor-mentee relationship enables mentees to gain invaluable insights into specific jobs, career paths, corporate cultures, and more.

The uniqueness of these programmes is not just the impressive credentials of the mentors, but lies on the fact that they are all top-notch alumni of CUHK Business School. Debuted on 18 October 2003, the Mentorship Programme forms part of MBA studies at the School that gives our students the opportunity to benefit from former graduates’ real-life experience. By having mentors share their guidance and insight into the world of commerce, the Mentorship Programme makes a valuable contribution to the education of the world’s future business leaders.
