CUHK Business School DBA 2025 cohort embarks on a four-year doctoral journey
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School held an opening ceremony and welcome dinner for the 2025 new cohort of the Doctor of Business Administration (Chinese) (DBA) Programme. This event marked the beginning of the students’ transformative journey to elevate their academic and professional development over the next four years.
This year, the DBA programme welcomed 25 distinguished business leaders from China’s most dynamic regions, including the Greater Bay Area, the Yangtze River Delta, the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region, as well as key Belt and Road countries. These seasoned executives bring with them an average of 23 years of professional experience and represent a wide spectrum of industries such as manufacturing, technology, financial services, and real estate. Collectively, they form a powerful network of management expertise and industry knowledge, which will be further refined through CUHK’s world-class research and advanced training resources.
Professor Zhou Lin, dean of CUHK Business School, extended a warm welcome to the new cohort and reaffirmed CUHK’s founding mission of “combining tradition with modernity, and bridging China and the West.” He emphasised Hong Kong’s position as a global hub, which offers students unique geographical advantages and rich academic resources. He encouraged the cohort to fully engage with CUHK’s East–West academic environment, stay ahead of technological and societal transformations, and generate new ideas that would fuel personal growth and business innovation.
Professor Vernon Hsu Ning, director of the DBA Programme, highlighted that CUHK, the first university in Hong Kong to independently establish a DBA programme, places strong emphasis on students’ industry experience, resource influence, and academic potential, and is committed to fostering close collaboration between students and faculty.
Launched in 2022, the DBA programme is a four-year, part-time doctoral degree designed for seasoned entrepreneurs and business professionals in the Greater China Area. By harnessing the School’s strengths in finance, technology, and business, the programme aims to support students in advancing their academic research and crystalising their findings into actionable business sagacity.
