CUHK Business School extends partnership with TUYF Charitable Trust through a new scholarship for finance students
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School is pleased to announce the establishment of the Yang Ju-mei Memorial Scholarship for Finance Students, generously supported by the TUYF Charitable Trust, marking a strengthened collaboration and the Trust’s steadfast commitment to business education at CUHK.
Building on the earlier launch of the Yang Ju-mei Memorial Scholarship for students in the BBA in Professional Accountancy (PACC) Programme, this new scholarship extends the recognition of academic excellence to finance students. It seeks to foster deeper engagement with STEM disciplines, nurturing diverse skillsets and innovative thinking throughout their academic journey.
Commencing in the 2025/26 academic year, the scholarship will award HK$50,000 to each recipient, supporting high-achieving undergraduate students enrolled in the Quantitative Finance (QFIN) Programme and the Quantitative Finance and Risk Management (QFRM) Programme.
Professor Zhou Lin, dean of CUHK Business School, and Professor Charles Cao, chairman of the Department of Finance, express their gratitude for the generous support of the TUYF Charitable Trust. Professor Zhou remarked, “We are deeply grateful to the TUYF Charitable Trust for its support to our finance students. This enhanced partnership offers our students invaluable learning resources and opportunities for growth, and reflects Dr Yang Ju-mei’s enduring passion and vision for business education. We look forward to creating even more avenues for our students’ development together in the future.”
Professor Cao added, “The TUYF Charitable Trust inspires our students to strive for excellence, and to establish a robust foundation for pursuing diverse pathways through STEM-focused studies.”
Named in honour of Dr Yang Ju-mei, the scholarship commemorates his pioneering contributions to business education at CUHK. As the founding dean of Commerce and Social Science, Dr Yang played a key role in shaping the University’s early development, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire students and faculty alike.
