CUHK Business School Launches the Doctor of Business Administration Programme

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School is proud to launch the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programme which will commence in Fall 2022.
Today, digitalisation and globalisation are reshaping the future of finance. Technological innovation has subverted conventional business models. Green and low-carbon policies have become integral to corporate strategies. To lead through an era of exponential change, it becomes critical for entrepreneurs and business executives to develop insight into the nature of transformation in finance, envisage the emerging trends in technology and design game-changing business models. In response, the CUHK DBA Programme encapsulates its strengths in Finance, Technology, and Business to help students propel their academic research and crystalise the findings into business sagacity.
Prof. Lin Zhou, Dean of CUHK Business School, conveyed his vision for the new programme, “The DBA Programme will bring together aspiring entrepreneurs and business professionals, as well as scholars and experts, to navigate and seize the opportunities amidst the challenges arisen from digital revolution, taking businesses to the next level and contributing to the betterment of all stakeholders and the society.”

Prof. Vernon Hsu, Programme Director of the DBA Programme, remarked that the programme is tailored for seasoned entrepreneurs and business professionals in the Greater China Area. It aims to provide the necessary guidance for students to take their success to the next level, through modelling their business cases with applied theories, and translating the significant findings into new, cutting-edge and innovative practice.
The DBA Programme is a 4-year part-time doctoral degree programme. Upon attaining the required programme credits, successful thesis submission and oral defence approval, students will be awarded the degree of Doctor of Business Administration by CUHK. Chinese will be the official medium of instruction and written language for the thesis.

Integrating theories and knowledge of economics, finance and management, the DBA programme features elective courses in Finance, Technology, and Business. In response to the latest trends in digitalisation and globalisation, the comprehensive curriculum covers fintech and services, business management, applied research methodology and beyond. The multi-disciplinary design empowers the students to master the tools and methodology in business research, refine the fundamental theories behind business phenomenon, and to carry out effective research and data analysis.
From programme design to academic system and module planning, the DBA Programme seeks to set its foot in China and provide practical solutions to her issues . Harnessing the strategic advantages of the Greater Bay Area in the fintech industry, it enhances the management knowledge of the students and prepares them to become all-around leaders who stay ahead of the challenges and opportunities in the future.
