CUHK Business School MSc in Information and Technology Management students explore Silicon Valley’s technology ecosystem

Students of the MSc in Information and Technology Management (MSc ITM) at CUHK Business School embarked on an immersive study trip to Silicon Valley in the United States in July, gaining first-hand exposure to one of the world’s leading technology and innovation ecosystems.

The five-day programme featured a mix of industry insights, academic exchange and experiential learning. During visits to Stanford University and San Jose State University, students engaged with the academic community and opened their eyes on the role of academia in advancing technology and innovation.

The cohort also toured leading technology and innovation organisations, including Google, Intel, NetApp Inc., Plug and Play and Race Capital, gaining perspectives on AI, computing, entrepreneurship and venture investment.

A key highlight was the students’ final pitch session at Google, where teams presented innovative startup ideas spanning mental health support, secure employment, AI-generated storytelling, accessible learning and smart consumer management.

By connecting directly with technology leaders, entrepreneurs and academic experts, students returned with an expanded global perspective and a deeper understanding of how to translate emerging technologies into real-world solutions.
