CUHK Business School shares thought leadership at Southern Forum of Finance and Economics 2025

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School participated in the Southern Forum of Finance and Economics 2025 (SFFE 2025) in Guangzhou on 5–6 December, joining hundreds of finance and business leaders from across the country. The School contributed fresh insights into the globalisation strategies of Chinese enterprises, highlighting ways to enhance competitiveness and pursue sustainable international growth.

Professor Ma Xufei, associate dean (research & impact) and chairman of the Department of Management, delivered an inspiring speech titled “Going Global: The New Blue Ocean for Chinese Enterprises.” Drawing on his extensive research and industry experience, Professor Ma discussed strategies for navigating global uncertainty, strengthening organisational resilience, and capturing emerging opportunities in overseas markets.

He also underscored Hong Kong’s pivotal role as a gateway for global capital, emphasising how the city’s unique institutional and financial advantages equip Chinese enterprises to enter international markets, deepen their global presence, and move up the global value chain.

Professor Ma also spoke with media outlets during the forum. In these interviews, he further elaborated on his research insights and shared his perspectives on how rapid AI development and evolving geopolitical dynamics are reshaping global competition, making international expansion not only an opportunity but an essential strategic imperative for Chinese enterprises.
