CUHK ranks 10th worldwide for real estate research leadership
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has been ranked 10th worldwide in the Real Estate Academic Leadership (REAL) Institutional Rankings for 2021-2025, placing first in Hong Kong and second in Asia.
The REAL rankings rigorously evaluate the number of articles published in the top three real estate research journals over the past five years—The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Research, and Real Estate Economics. During the review period, CUHK Business School contributed 20 publications to these leading journals, ranking 10th globally, up seven places from last year. Notably, Professor Yang Liuming contributed nine publications, placing him 12th among scholars worldwide.
This achievement underscores CUHK’s global research leadership and its steadfast commitment to academic excellence and impactful scholarship. Driving this success is the Centre for Hospitality and Real Estate Research, established in 1999 under the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at CUHK Business School. The Centre has grown into a renowned industry knowledge hub and a leading source of cutting-edge research and executive education for the hospitality and real estate sectors.
Professor Robert Li Xiang, director of School of Hotel and Tourism Management, remarks, “Real estate has always been a vital pillar of SHTM’s teaching and research, serving as one of the defining differentiators of CUHK’s hotel and tourism education compared with many peer institutions. We are delighted to witness our continued progress in this domain, and we take great pride in Professor Yang Liuming’s outstanding contributions and accomplishments.”
