Ms. Crystal Fu Lam-ying, winner of ICAEW/Simon Morris Memorial Prize in the December 2016 session was invited to give a thank you speech during the ceremony. “Two years ago, I was nominated by the School to be one of the QP scholarship recipients. Sitting down there, I would never imagine I will be giving a speech on this stage,” Fu said, “After going through countless time of studying, piles of learning materials and 19 hours of examination, I could still remember how excited I was when I saw the word ‘PASS’ on the result slip after each examination.”

Dr. Edmund Wong, Director of PACC Programme and Senior Lecturer of School of Accountancy and Mr. Eric Leung, Associate Director of PACC Programme and Lecturer of School of Accountancy at CUHK Business School attended the award ceremony to congratulate the alumni for their tremendous achievements. Dr. Wong shared, “In fact, PACC graduates took home more than 50 percent of all QP awards received by graduates from all undergraduate accounting programmes during the past 5 years. All of us at the School of Accountancy are extremely proud of our graduates’ achievements. Once again, my hearty congratulation to all PACC award recipients.”

The HKICPA Qualification Programme is a comprehensive training programme that provides the knowledge and skills necessary to become a CPA. QP builds on an accounting degree and progresses to course work and examinations. Candidates will also participate in workshops that simulate issues they will face at work as a CPA. They will then go on to real-world experience, gained under the tutelage of a CPA, which prepares them to assume roles with greater responsibility.
