Engaging Annual Dinner Gathers Taiwan Business Alumni

The CUHK Business School Taiwan Alumni Association convened its second session of the Third Annual General Meeting and hosted a memorable Annual Dinner on Saturday, 30 April at a Chinese restaurant in the Neo 19 building, located in Taipei’s Xinyi district.

The CUHK Business School Taiwan Alumni Association convened its second session of the Third Annual General Meeting and hosted a memorable Annual Dinner on Saturday, 30 April at a Chinese restaurant in the Neo 19 building, located in Taipei’s Xinyi district.

Invited by Dr. Cheng-chiou Chang, the Taiwan Alumni Association’s President, VIPs included Dr. Yu-Chiun Chiou, Associate Dean of the College of Management at the National Chiao Tung University, and Mr. Raymond Chen, Commercial Relations Division’s Head for the Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office in Taiwan. VIP Business School guests included the Dean, Prof. Kalok Chan; Ms. Florence Lai, the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Director; Mr. So Chun, Administrative Director of the EMBA Program, and Mr. Jonas Fung, Senior Manager of Marketing and Student Recruiting for the EMBA (Chinese) Program.

The annual gathering centred on the theme ‘Be Connected and Share’ and brought together over 80 alumni and friends in a warm and relaxed setting. President Cheng-chiou Chang delivered welcoming remarks and reported on the alumni association’s activities during the past year. Prof. Kalok Chan was invited to kick off the dinner with an opening speech in which he thanked the alumni for their tremendous support and updated everyone on the Business School’s new developments at both the Hong Kong and Shenzhen campuses.

Everyone enjoyed the evening, which included delicious food and live entertainment. The enthusiastic alumni appreciated the opportunity to connect with Business School guests, and some even took selfies to capture special moments! Alumni broke into groups, excited to delight the audience with their singing talents, which hinted at the team spirit behind the scenes. The highlight of the night was a singing performance led by Prof. Kalok Chan and Ms. Florence Lai, which generated great applause from the floor. A group photo concluded the memorable evening.

Dean Prof. Kalok Chan said, “It was my first time to join the annual gathering with our Taiwan alumni. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the council members for their time and efforts in hosting this wonderful event.” Ms. Florence Lai added, “The unity I witnessed tonight truly demonstrated the strength of our alumni network. I look forward to working more closely with fellow alumni in Taiwan to build a stronger alumni community.”
