Telling alumni to ‘keep discovering (their) true beauty and potential’, Ms. Caroline Sze, Image Consultant and Director of Seasoning, hosted a Business School graduates workshop on professional image styling during a weekend in May.

Organised by the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office, the ‘Grooming and Image Styling for Business Executives’ workshop was attended by 40 men and women alumni working in various professions. In the comfortable environment of DiVino Patio, an Italian restaurant in Wan Chai, participants embarked on a journey that inspired them to reflect on their image and create the happy life they deserve. Ms. Florence Lai, Alumni and Corporate Affairs Director, said, “I am excited to see how fully committed the alumni were. Professional workshops like this further our vision of building a stronger alumni network and our desire to meet the needs of alumni as they seek personal and professional advancement.”

During the interactive workshop, alumni learned about hairstyling, skin care, makeup, dressing, tailoring, men’s and women’s accessories, and shopping tips for executives. They also looked at basics vs novelty pieces, as well as trends vs professionalism. Caroline shared her insights on grooming and styling, telling alumni to take a positive approach and appreciate beauty through a vivid presentation, during which she demonstrated varying styles with alumni volunteers.

“Everyone could feel Caroline’s passion. She is very professional and clearly showed that grooming and styling are important in creating our personal image, which is fundamental in the business community,” an alumna working in consulting stated. “Two hours is definitely not enough time, but it has inspired me to take a bolder approach to balancing style and professionalism in my career,” added an alumnus in banking.

The workshop received an overwhelmingly response and alumni expressed interested in attending a second event in the near future. “I would like to thank our enthusiastic attendees for their continued support,” said Ms. Lai.
