Biography
Prof Yaqi Gong is an Assistant Professor in the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at CUHK Business School. She received her dual-title Ph.D. degree in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management & Social Data Analytics from Pennsylvania State University, where she earned her M.S. degree in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management. Her research interests lie in the intersection of consumer behaviors and media psychology. Particularly, she is interested in the various negative effects of social media and other information technologies on tourists’ well-being. Her research has been published in various leading journals, such as Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and Information Technology & Tourism. Prior to her academic career, she has work experience in Tourism B2B and theme parks.
