Biography

Yuze (Richard) Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Decision, Operations and Technology at CUHK Business School, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He holds a PhD in Operations and Technology Management from the Questrom School of Business, Boston University, an MSc in Management Science and Engineering from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a BASc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto. His research examines how emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence and decentralised (blockchain-based) platforms—both address and create sustainability challenges across environmental, social, and governance dimensions, drawing on tools from operations management, game theory, and machine learning. His work has appeared in leading journals including Management Science, Nature Climate Change, Nature Communications, National Science Review, and the European Journal of Operational Research. His research on the environmental impact of blockchain has been featured by international media including The New York Times, The Economist, Bloomberg, BBC, and CNBC.
