Shen, Jianguang

Biography

Jianguang Shen, Ph.D., is VP and Chief Economist of JD.com, a leading e-commerce company in China. He is also the Dean of JD Economic Research Institute.

Dr Shen is Vice Chair of the National Statistics Society (NBS), a standing member of the China Society for the Study of the Private-Sector Economy (CSSPE), Executive President of the Moganshan Institute, and a member of the China Chief Economist Forum. In addition to his adjunct appointment at CUHK Business School, he also serves as an adjunct professor at the School of Economics and the School of International Finance at Fudan University.

Previously, he served as Chief Economist of Mizuho Securities Asia, and senior economist at ECB and China International Capital Corporation. Dr Shen was also Economist at the IMF, OECD and Central Bank of Finland, and Visiting Scholar at the People’s Bank of China.

He was a post-doctoral researcher at the MIT, held a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Helsinki.
