Xue, Wendao

Biography

Wendao Xue is an Assistant Professor from the Department of Decisions, Operations and Technology (DOT) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. She was a postdoctoral researcher at the McCombs School of Business, The University of Texas at Austin. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Washington. Her research focuses on Causal AI, data analytics, and the economics of Information Systems. In particular, she studies Causal AI from three angles: exploring new opportunities to use AI and machine learning to improve causal inference methods; identifying challenges in current applications of AI and machine learning to causal inference; and investigating innovative applications of AI. She is interested in applying novel data-analytic methods to identify and solve challenging practical problems that benefit businesses, health care, and society. Another stream of her research examines the impact of generative AI on business and organisations. Her research methods include machine learning, causal inference, econometrics, and laboratory experiments.
