Natarajan, Siddharth


Prof. Siddharth Natarajan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. Prof. Natarajan’s research centres on how companies can better manage their business and technology portfolios. His current research focuses on the role of complementarities in commercialization. Prior to joining the academia, Prof. Natarajan worked as a manager with multinational firms in the areas of product management and strategy.

Choi, Tina Wai-shan


Prof. Tina Choi is a sales and marketing expert with strong entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial spirits and solid market practitioner experience. She has proven track records in managing the top-tier big brands in FMCG and consumer electronics sectors in MNCs including Dyson, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, Unilever, PepsiCo, and Procter & Gamble. She is good at crafting the business insights and creating the joint business value creation plans with various stakeholders to facilitate various product launches and business remodeling, such as develop and lead the Mystery Shopper Programme, and the Training, Retail Audit and Compliance Tracking APP development in Dyson, and leading FMCG programmes for skincare products with Mannings and Nielsen. She also has good creativity and flair for identifying and developing in new approaches of selling or marketing of a diversified range of products, particularly by utilizing the advantages of e-commerce, digital and social media.

In academic area, Prof. Choi has acquired both of her BBA and EMBA in The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Since 2016, She has been assisting the PAVD Applied Entrepreneurship (remodelling and fund raising) as an International Project Advisor. She has been appointed as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Management under CUHK Business School and will teach in the MBA programme in 2020.

She is very passionate in teaching by sharing her on-the-ground experience to the students, especially in her alma mater. She was invited as the guest speakers for numerous business cases sharing talks in innovations in her expertise fields, as well as serving as career consultants or mock interviewers in CUHK (BBA & MBA), National University of Singapore (MBA) and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (BBA), by bringing the students with her over a decade of experience of being the key hiring managers or board interviewers for the top-tier MNCs. She has devoted herself to share her sales and marketing experience with and have been very well received by students.

Prof. Ivan Chan is an Asian global executive with deep experience in digital business and innovation. He is passionate about helping enterprises and start-ups to reinvent and grow their businesses, enabled by Digital. Having worked in both consumer-facing and industrial segments, across different industries, he offers unique insights and wisdom in strategising and executing transformation programs often leading to new business models.

Prof. Chan worked in innovation and technology strategy capacity with Accenture, McKinsey and EY. He also built, over six years, two tech start-ups within the MNC environment. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School, and a frequent keynote speaker at industry conferences. Prof. Chan holds a Master in Engineering from UBC Canada and an MBA from CUHK Business School.

Tsui, Elsie


Dr. Elsie Tsui has extensive experience both as a corporate executive and a management consultant. Prior to setting up her consulting business, she has worked for the Asia office of !What If? Innovation Partner, a leading innovation consultancy, based in Shanghai. Specialising in innovation management, innovation capability building through design thinking, as well as organisation transformation strategy, she has led many high impact training workshops for the leaders from Fortune 500 companies across Europe and Asia. She has also conducted training sessions in design thinking for corporate clients and non-profit sector in Hong Kong and mainland China.

Before starting her consulting career, Dr. Tsui has worked for Coca-Cola China for 8 years. As the deputy head of the Public Affairs & Communications function, Dr. Tsui has led a cross-regional team of 14 people, covering Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China. She was also involved in Coca-Cola’s global Olympics activations as well as setting up an in-house training and mentoring project called the PAC Institute for her team and the business partners.

With her passion in teaching, Dr. Tsui is an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Department of Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. She teaches Social Entrepreneurship and Impact Investment course for the MBA programmes. She also leads a study field trip to Silicon Valley for understanding its innovation eco-system. Meanwhile, she works part-time as a project director for CUHK Center for Entrepreneurship.

Dr. Tsui majored in Sociology and minored in Journalism & Communications at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and graduated with the first-class honours. She also holds an MBA from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK. She has received Doctor of Business Administration degree from Grenoble School of Management, researching the collaboration and learning networks of social enterprises in Hong Kong.

Dr. Tsui was born in Thailand and has grown up in Hong Kong. She has worked in Hong Kong, Shanghai and London, and speaks fluent English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Thai.

Wan, William


Prof. William Wan is a Professor in the Department of Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also serving as Co-Director of the EMBA Programme and Director of the Centre for International Business Studies. Prior to joining CUHK in 2018, he was a Professor and Associate Dean (Research and Faculty) at City University of Hong Kong. Previously, he was an Associate Professor and the Trinity Company Professor of Management at Texas Tech University, as well as an Associate and Assistant Professor at Thunderbird School of Global Management. He received his Ph.D. in strategic management from Texas A&M University. He has taught at the undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and executive education levels. He had industry experience in real estate and international consulting in Hong Kong and California, respectively.

Prof. Wan’s expertise is in corporate strategy, international strategy, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, and strategic entrepreneurship. He is currently serving as an Associate Editor of Journal of Management, and was a Consulting Editor of Management and Organization Review. Also, he is serving or has served on the editorial boards of a number of leading management and international business journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, and Group & Organization Management. In addition, he had been elected as a Representative-at-Large at Strategic Management Society’s Corporate Strategy Interest Group. His research has appeared in many top-tier scholarly journals.

Devarakonda, Shivaram


Prof. Shivaram Devarakonda is an Assistant Professor of Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He studies strategies firms employ to deal with technological change. His current research is examining the design of governance mechanisms in inter-organisational relationships.

Suh, Jung-hyun


Prof. Jung-hyun Suh is an Assistant Professor in Department of Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his PhD in Management from Stern School of Business, New York University. His research interests lie in a broad array of strategy and management issues including behavioural theory, organisational learning, strategic alliances, and innovation. Prof. Suh earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, and Master of Science in Strategy/International Business degrees from Seoul National University.

Prof. Charm has over 30 years of management, marketing, entrepreneurship, consulting and executive education experience in innovation and technology industry. He held senior management positions in leading multinational, Hong Kong and mainland enterprises including Cyberport, HSBC, IBM, Oracle, Kingdee and Jardine Pacific. Prof. Charm is currently an associate professor in CUHK Business School where he cultivates the next generation of digital leaders and entrepreneurs. He also chairs and advises a few elite AI/Big Data and FinTech start-ups in Asia.

Prof. Charm has been actively cultivating the start-ups ecosystem in Hong Kong and Asia. When he was the Chief Public Mission Officer of Hong Kong Cyberport, Prof. Charm led his team to establish and cultivate a world-leading digital tech ecosystem in Hong Kong with 1,200+ digital tech companies from 30+ countries where 300+ are FinTech companies and at least 3 are unicorns now. He was the Head Judge of 2019 HK ICT Awards – FinTech Award as well as the final judge of the most influential start-ups competitions such as MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 APAC, Alibaba JumpStarter, HSBC x HKET Innovative Business Award, Elevator Pitch, TechCrunch, etc.

Prof. Charm specialises in AI/Big Data, FinTech, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Digital Strategy, Leadership and Transformation. He has been empowering enterprises to transform to the digital economy in various ways. It includes advising senior management on digital transformation, bringing in innovations from start-ups to match corporate needs, co-organizing innovation labs, accelerators, competitions and hackathons with corporates, and delivering best practices training to corporates.

Prof. Charm serves the community and industry through participating in professional and business associations. Hui, Jeffrey


Dr. Jeffrey Hui is currently Associate Director of MSc in Marketing Programme and Professional Consultant of Marketing (Fractional) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Prior to his academic career, Dr. Hui served at various top-notch business and media organisations, including P&G, Cathy Pacific, TVB as well as RTHK. As a scholar-of-practice, Dr. Hui has also served as the marketing and training consultant for various high-profile corporations, like Google, Tencent, LinkedIn, IBM, Coca-Cola, P&G, Nestle, HSBC, L’Oréal, J&J, Pfizer, GSK, AstraZeneca, 3M, Adidas, Inchcape, etc.

As an interdisciplinary scholar, Dr. Hui obtained his EdD from University of Bristol, MSt from University of Cambridge, MA from The University of Hong Kong, EMBA (Dean’s List) and BBA (Hons) both from CUHK.

Actively contributing to the marketing profession, Dr. Hui has been serving as the Honorary Advisor and Former Chairperson of the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing and appointed as the final judge of various regional competitions, such as Effie Awards (Greater China), ECI Awards (Greater China) and Yahoo! BIG Idea Chair Awards.

Lam, Howard Pong-yuen


Prof. Howard Lam is Adjunct Associate Professor in Department of Marketing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. In 2017-2019, he was Director (Marketing and Communications) of School of Management and Economics, CUHK-Shenzhen. In 2013-2016, he was professor and EMBA Associate Director at CUHK. Before he became a professor, he was practitioner with rich commercial experience and a record of sustained leadership and innovation for over 25 years. He had worked at P&G, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola and Lee Kum Kee Health Products Group, and gradually moved up the ranks from brand assistant, brand manager, marketing director, general manager consumer marketing to senior vice president. With his excellent marketing strategy and cross-functional leadership, he has won several global awards at the Coca-Cola Company. One award is the best new product launch for Minute Maid juice drink with pulp. It is also the first juice drink from a developing country, and is then rolled out to the world. Other awards include the best brand marketing asset program, the best implementation of marketing communication campaign, and the best in show for carbonated beverages.
