Fintech Seminar : Agile Transformation at Enterprise Level – A Case Study

As a community bank of Hong Kong with rich traditions and legacies of over 80 years, Hang Seng Bank’s 3-year journey towards enterprise agility includes a mix of radical changes and incremental shifts in ways of thinking, working and organising ourselves.

The guest speaker will share stories of uniqueness in the Bank’s transformation journey, for example vision and steer from senior leadership, transformation bank-wide, loosely coupled agile champion groups, breadth and scale of agile knowledge/skill uplift – and how these enabling agility among project communities and corporate support functions. We will share examples of how people respond differently in the transition. We will also openly discuss the challenges such as mindset changes, moving from project structure into scaled delivery model, buy-in from risk stewards etc.

About the Speaker

Mr. Nike Kong, Chief Information Officer of Hang Seng Bank, is responsible for technology services within the bank and its subsidiaries including Hang Seng Indexes. Nike has over 30 years of technology management experience in the financial services industry, taking on various senior roles in the HSBC Group including the recent two years leading the IT function of Hang Seng Bank. Nike has extensive knowledge in enterprise system development and technology change management across different segments including retail, commercial and investment banking. Nike holds a Bachelor of Mathematics Degree from the University of Waterloo.
