Chu, Ivan（朱國樑）

Biography

Ivan Chu is Former Chairman of John Swire & Sons (China) Limited. He is also a Director of John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited and Swire Pacific Limited, and a Non-executive Director of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited.

Prior to taking up his current position, Mr Chu was Chief Executive of Cathay Pacific from March 2014 to April 2017, and was Chief Operating Officer of the airline from March 2011 to March 2014. Mr Chu joined the Swire Group in 1984, and has worked with the Group in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Thailand and Australia.

Mr Chu holds a Master degree in Commerce from the University of New South Wales in Australia and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from the University of Hong Kong. He attended executive programmes at Stanford University in the USA and INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

Mr Chu is a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Shanghai Committee. He is also a General Committee Member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Our Hong Kong Foundation and a member of the Advisory Council of the Business and Professionals Federation of Hong Kong. He serves as a Council Member of the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF, and a member of the Board of Directors of The Community Chest of Hong Kong. He is also Chairman of the Incorporated Management Committee of Taikoo Primary School.
