Biography
Professor Liu Xuan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at CUHK Business School. She received her PhD degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota, Master’s degree in Management Studies from Duke University, and Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Economics from Peking University. Her research programme primarily seeks to deepen understanding of socioeconomic inequality in the work context. She employs a variety of research methods, including longitudinal field surveys, experiments, and archival data analysis. Her research has been funded by the competitive grant programme of the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology and multiple research grants from the University of Minnesota. Her work has received recognition, such as the Best Overall Paper Award from the Academy of Management Career Division and “Dare to Care” Research Award from the University of Minnesota.
Professor Liu is passionate about teaching courses on management, human resource management, and organisational behaviour. She has taught the senior-level undergraduate course “Human Resource Management and Strategy” and won the PhD Student Teaching Award at the University of Minnesota. She is currently teaching MGNT 1020 “Management” at CUHK Business School.
