Biography

Dr Pang is the Chief Economist and Head of Research at JLL, Greater China. He leads a strong team of over 50 researchers across Greater China to provide market research, topical reports, thought leadership, client and media engagement, and support for business development efforts.

Dr Pang is also a member of JLL’s Global Research Leadership Team and APAC Research Management Team. He is a key participant in JLL’s global research effort to solidify the strong JLL brand globally by extending thought leadership through industry research.

He joined JLL from China Renaissance Securities, where he was the Chief Economist and Head of Macro and Strategy Research. Before that, Dr Pang was the equity strategist at HSBC Global Research and managed more than 20 research analysts. He ranked among the top three regional strategists in Asiamoney Brokers Poll.

Dr Pang is a columnist for Caixin, Caijing, Securities Times, 21st Century Business Herald, Economic Observer and Wen Wei Po. He is widely quoted and interviewed by domestic and overseas media outlets, such as Bloomberg, Dow Jones Newswire, Reuters, CNBC, BBC, CNN, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The New York Times, The Washington Post, CGTN, Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, People’s Daily, China Daily, Economic Daily and South China Morning Post.

Dr Pang holds a PhD degree in Economics from the University of Hong Kong, a MA degree in Sociology from the University of Chicago, an MSc degree in Economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as well as a Bachelor of Economics degree in Finance from the Renmin University of China.
