An Industry Forum and New Year Carnival was held on 16 December 2017 at Le Méridien Xiaojing Bay in Huizhou, the largest annual networking reunion for alumni and students of the THU-CUHK MBA Programme in Finance (FMBA) in Southern China. The half-day event welcomed close to 400 participants.

This year, the theme of the THU-CUHK FMBA Industry Forum was “New Thoughts, New Finance: A Dialogue in New Cycles”. Distinguished leaders from various sectors gathered to share their insights on the global economy and investment outlook, including Mr. Jiang Xun, Founder and Chief Economist of MFI; Mr. Liang Fei (FMBA 2016), Co-founder and Chairman of Shenzhen Pusu Capital; Mr. Li Quansheng (FMBA 2015), Managing Director and Equity Investment Manager of Bosera Asset Management Co. Limited; and Mr. Chen Hanqi (FMBA 2015), Partner of JunZeJun Law Offices.

Afterwards, a lively carnival was held in the ballroom along with a delicious dinner to celebrate the new year. Prof. Liu Ming, Director of the FMBA Programme, and Prof. Xia Guangzhi, Vice Dean of the Tsinghua University Graduate School in Shenzhen, opened with warm welcome remarks and a toast. They also presented Alumni Awards to recognise devoted alumni for their valuable contributions to the FMBA Programme. In addition to a highly anticipated lucky draw, the entertaining agenda featured wonderful dances, a guitar solo and song, and a fashion show, which illustrated the alumni and students’ talent. The evening concluded with an impressive fireworks display by the sea, delighting everyone with beautiful bursts of colour.

Prof. Liu Ming was grateful to all involved for making the event a great success. “This annual event showcases the team spirit of our alumni and students, and demonstrates how closely bonded our network in the Pearl River Delta truly is. Thank you, everyone!”
