CUHK Business School Receives Donation from Mr. Shu-sing Ng for Launching Tang Kee-Chan Memorial Scholarship

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School has received a generous donation from distinguished alumnus Mr. Shu-sing Ng (MBA 1971). A new scholarship for outstanding MBA students, “Tang Kee-Chan Memorial Scholarship”, will be launched in the academic year 2023/24.

Mr. Shu-sing Ng earned his MBA degree from CUHK in 1971 before immigrating to Canada in 1975. He has been a member of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) since 1976. He is also the Vice President of The Chinese Real Estate Professionals Society of Ontario (CREPSO), and a founding director of the organisation which was established in 1983 with more than 4,000 members to date. He founded his first real estate brokerage firm in 1988 in Scarborough and expanded his business to Richmond Hill in 1995. Having worked in the real estate business for almost half a century, he decided to retire in 2022.

Named in honour of Mr. Ng’s father-in-law and the renowned “King of Comedy” Mr. Kee-chan Tang, the scholarship aims to recognise and support talented individuals pursuing their MBA studies at CUHK.

Mr. Kee-chan Tang was a radio broadcaster in Guangzhou in the 1940s and made tremendous contributions to the entertainment industry in Hong Kong between the 1950s and 1980s. He was well-loved for his humour and ability to impersonate others’ voices. Since the 1950s, he appeared in more than 150 famous comedies and films which won him the moniker “King of Comedy”.
