CUHK MBA Student Aims to Stay at the Forefront of Technological Innovations in the Automotive Industry

Current MBA student Harish Sivashanmugam tells BusinessBecause.com that The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School is the springboard for him to enter the automobile market in China.
The traditional car-manufacturing industry is being shaken up by Silicon Valley-based tech giants such as Apple and Google, which are investing huge sums in the development of autonomous electric-powered vehicles. Meanwhile, Uber’s ride-sharing platform is disrupting traditional car ownership patterns. The sharing economy venture, which boasts more than 1 million drivers worldwide, is committed to creating a future with smartphone-controlled driverless cars.
Will technological changes spell the end of the automotive industry as we know it? Current full-time MBA student and former Hyundai and Volkswagen engineer Harish Sivashanmugam thinks so. He is keen on staying at the cutting edge of business and technology and has made a bold decision to relocate from India to Hong Kong for an MBA degree.
Sivashanmugam shares with BusinessBecause.com why he made the decision to pursue an MBA at CUHK Business School. “I want to enter the Chinese market and CUHK Business School gives me a strong platform to do that,” he says. “I realized that to soar higher in my professional life, I needed more feathers and fuel, and I wanted to infuse a business sense into my thought process as early as possible. An MBA, with its all-encompassing package, was the perfect fit.”
Sivashanmugam also adds that “the biggest takeaway from CUHK MBA has been a better understanding of my strengths and the areas which need improvement,” adding that “I can’t wait to see how this experience will change my approach to work when I get back into the job market.”… Read More (PDF)
