CUHK POMS-HK International Conference brings together academics in operations management to explore research in the next horizon

The Department of Decisions, Operations and Technology (DOT) at CUHK Business School hosted the POMS-HK 2025 International Conference on 3-5 January, bringing together more than 700 international scholars and PhD students from around the world. This annual event serves as a vital platform for academics to exchange ideas and explore collaboration opportunities in the field of operations management.

The POMS-HK International Conference is hosted in turn by major research universities in Hong Kong. Over the past 15 years, it has established itself as one of the most influential events in the operations management academic community in Asia, attracting researchers from the Asia Pacific region — including mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and India — as well as from Europe and North America.

This year’s theme, “OM and AI ─ The Next Horizon”, reflects the growing intersection of operations management and artificial intelligence (AI). The conference featured esteemed keynote speakers, Professor Chao Xiuli from the University of Michigan and Professor Amy Ward from the University of Chicago, both renowned scholars in production and operations management. Additionally, Professor Dennis Zhang of Washington University in St. Louis delivered a tutorial session on his recent research.
