Eight CUHK Business School students have recently swept up top awards in the ‘Challenge Cup’ National Competition Hong Kong Regional Final – Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition 2016, including the Grand Prize, one First Class Award, two Second Class Awards and one Third Class Award of the Entrepreneurship category.

The Grand Prize for Entrepreneurship and the First Class Award of Newly Established Enterprise both went to an Anti-loss Solution called ‘R-Guardian-Smart Personal Belongings Solution’ by Lau Pak-lam (Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis [IFAA], Year 5) and his partner. Their project involves the installation of a Bluetooth device in handbags and wallets. With the tailor-made module in mobile applications, the device will alert users if their valuables are located beyond the designated distance. The system also has an anti-fake function which enables users to check the authenticity of products easily.

The winning teams of the Entrepreneurship category will represent Hong Kong at the biennial ‘Chuang Qing Chun’ National Entrepreneurship Competition 2016 to be held at Sichuan in November.
