PACC Student Comes First at the 2019 BDO Best Intern Scholarship Contest

PACC Student came first at 2019 BDO Best Intern Scholarship Contest

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School student Sandy Ching-yi Chan (Professional Accountancy, Class of 2020) won the championship in the 2019 BDO Best Intern Scholarship Contest held on 26 April 2019.

BDO Best Intern Scholarship Contest is part of the BDO Spring Internship Programme, which is a 4-month programme inclusive of a one-week structured technical training, followed by on-the-job training through a series of practical assignments with local enterprises and multinational corporations. The contest aims to unleash the problem-solving capability, creativity and presentation skills of the interns, so as to assess their potentials and recognise their job performance. Every year, the BDO Best Intern Scholarship Contest is open to all the BDO Spring Interns of the prevailing year, and the participation is on a voluntary basis.

The contestants were assessed on three dimensions: their written proposal, oral presentation skills, and overall calibre based on their internship performance. They were required to identify a real life issue within the firm and prepare a written proposal to give their own solutions. Three shortlisted finalists were invited to deliver an oral presentation to a judging panel of BDO’s top management executives. At last, Sandy attained the highest total score out of all contestants. She was awarded with the BDO Best Intern Scholarship of HK$10,000, a return offer of employment in BDO upon her graduation, as well as a job shadowing opportunity with one of the BDO senior executives.
