Six Business School Students Take Home First Place in Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition

A group of six students from CUHK Business School took home first place in the 8th Annual Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition held in New York City on 14-15 November, 2016.

A group of six students from CUHK Business School took home first place in the 8th Annual Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition held in New York City on 14-15 November, 2016.

The winning team comprised Zenith Chung (Hotel and Tourism Management [HTMG], Year 4), Pinky Chiu (Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis, Year 5), Lucas Li (Quantitative Finance [QFN], Year 4), Adrian Tang (HTMG, Year 4), Nancy Wong (HTMG, Year 5) and William Wang (QFN, Year 5). The team bested nineteen undergraduate teams from six countries to claim the international championship, and was awarded with a cash prize of USD 10,000.

Hosted by the Center for Real Estate and Finance, the Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition is the most prestigious and major competition in real estate participated by all the top real estate and business schools in the world. The academic event provides a platform whereby students, faculty, and practitioners may interact and exchange ideas about the future of the real estate and finance industry.

In the competition, each team is tasked with an intense five-day process of analysis and presentation regarding an actual real estate transaction. The teams’ presentations are judged by leading real estate experts, who consider the recommendations, analysis, and presentation.
