Synopsis
Looking opportunities for property investment in Hong Kong? Tech Stock? Passive income? US interest rate is one of the most important economic indicators for you to consider. In addition to providing insights about the trend of interest rate in US in 2023, the master class will discuss a structural framework about how to forecast US interest rate by your own. A review of the decision-making process of Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will be carried out. How to use financial and economic data to forecast US interest rate will also be discussed. After the class, you will have a comprehensive understanding about the US monetary policy in 2023.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Andrew Yuen graduated from CUHK obtained with BBA and MPhil degrees. Later, he obtained his PhD Degree of Transport Economics from Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia, Canada. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer of Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics, CUHK.
His main research interests include aviation and maritime economics, industrial organisation and applied econometrics. He published academic papers in various international peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Transport Economics Policy, Journal of Air Transport Management, Transport Research Parts A and D, Maritime Policy and Management and Pacific Economic Review.
