Hong Kong Rated 2nd Most Competitive Economy in the World

In an interview with CCTV, Prof. Denis Wang shares his view on how Hong Kong can maintain its global competitiveness.

Despite the political challenges last year, Hong Kong has managed to maintain its global competitiveness and has been ranked the second most competitive economy in the world, next to the United States, according to the World Competitiveness Yearbook Rankings 2015 by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD).

Hong Kong earns the top spots for government and business efficiency while its infrastructure climbed six places to the 15th in the world. In an interview with China Central Television (CCTV)’s America Channel, Prof. Denis Wang, Associate Professor and Director of School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong Business School, shares his view on how the city can sustain its global competitiveness: “We need to embrace this new culture and new thinking, and for government and institutions alike, to embrace an innovative culture, whereby there is a degree of diversity, whereby society encourages free thinking and tolerance.”
