Alumni Dinner Celebrating Accountancy in 30 Years of Change

Hosted by the School of Accountancy, the largest department in CUHK Business School, the event gathered about 250 participants including alumni, faculty members, and guests from international accounting firms and professional bodies.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Professional Accountancy (PACC) Program, the School of Accountancy Alumni Dinner was successfully held at Cordis Hong Kong at Langham Place on November 30, 2016.

Hosted by the School of Accountancy, the largest department in CUHK Business School, the event gathered about 250 participants including alumni, faculty members, and guests from international accounting firms and professional bodies.

On that day, Prof. Kalok Chan, Dean of CUHK Business School first thanked the guests for their concerted efforts in achieving this milestone. He then shared the developments of School of Accountancy and CUHK Business School: “With a solid plan in place, coupled with the dedication of our staff and enthusiastic alumni supporters, we will continue to reach upwards, facing the challenges head on and embracing the opportunities.”

Prof. Gu Zhaoyang, Director of School of Accountancy introduced the development of two new streams – Global Accounting Stream and Global Tax and Governance Stream – under PACC. He highlighted the student achievements in public exams and case competitions, as well as the enrichment activities for PACC students.

In addition, Dr. Eric Li, Senior Partner of Li, Tang, Chen & Co. and Chairman of Advisory Board on Accounting Studies, CUHK and our PACC alumna Ms. Jacqueline So, Co-Founder & Chief Executive of Malvern College Hong Kong Limited shared their insights on the dinner’s theme “Accountancy in a Time of Change”.

All participants not only co-celebrated the School’s 30-year excellence in teaching and learning, but also had a good time reminiscing and catching up with old and new friends that night.
