CUHK SHTM Networking Day fosters connections for tomorrow’s leaders

On 17 January 2025, the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) hosted its annual Networking Day. This year, more than 300 students gathered to forge invaluable connection with 200 professionals from 60 leading companies in the industry.
In his welcoming remarks, Professor Robert Li, Director of SHTM, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional support from the industry. He highlighted that this year’s record number of participating companies underscores the industry’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals.
A diverse array of top-tier companies from the real estate, hospitality, and hotel sectors participated in the event. At the career exhibition, which spanned three floors of Cheng Yu Tung Building, more than 200 enthusiastic industry leaders and HR professionals engaged with aspiring students, showcasing exciting career development prospects within their organisations.
The event featured a series of thought-provoking round table discussions, pairing 40 students with 40 seasoned industry leaders for meaningful dialogues on the theme “Navigate the Future”. These direct interactions with industry experts provided students with firsthand insights into emerging career trends and the skills necessary to thrive in their future careers.
Additionally, the event also brought together industry partners and faculty members over a networking lunch, strengthening collaboration on research projects and fostering cross-sector partnerships.
