Annual PACC Forum Discusses Accountancy in a Time of Change

The forum was attended by more than 200 high school teachers and students, industry representatives, PACC Global Accounting stream students and faculty members.

On 18 March, the Professional Accountancy (PACC) programme successfully organised the annual PACC Forum at Courtyard by Marriott Sha Tin Hong Kong. The forum was attended by more than 200 high school teachers and students (from over 30 high schools), industry representatives, PACC Global Accounting stream students and faculty members.

The PACC Forum was featured by a panel discussion with the theme “Accountancy in a Time of Change”. Four PACC alumni, who were also industry veterans from different industries, were invited as guest speakers including Ms. Joyce Lau, Chief Financial Officer , Target Insurance (Holdings) Limited; Mr. Alex Suen, head of Marketing Planning & Governance, Hang Seng Bank Limited; Mr. Thomas Tang, Director, Deal Advisory, transaction Services, KPMG; and Mr. Calvin Tse, Chief Executive Office, Golden Stone Catering Management Ltd. Their insightful sharing allows students to know more about the job nature, the change of accounting role and the essential elements an accounting graduate should possess in different professions, which in turn helps them make a more informed choice of their future studies.

Apart from the panel discussion, the “Global Accounting (GA) Stream Scholarships” were also presented to 10 current GA stream students to recognise their all-rounded achievements. Three other GA stream students were unable to join the occasion due to their participations in exchange or competition. An interactive game was also conducted after the presentation ceremony, students had a fun time and at the same time could understand more about the PACC Programme. The event was concluded with a lunch buffet where potential students had a chance to talk to faculty members, PACC students and staff.
