Fruitful Live Chat with Young Entrepreneurs of “The Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia”

CUHK AAO Happy Hour Live event

Organised by The Alumni Affairs Office (AAO) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), a “Happy Hour” live event was successfully held virtually on 26 June 2020 (Friday) via CUHK Alumni Affairs Office Facebook Page.

Three young entrepreneurial business alumni, who had been named on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2020 List, were invited to share their views on their entrepreneurial journey. The 20-minute long chit-chat session attracted more than 6,700 viewers. The three speakers are:

Moderated by the President of Forbes Global Holdings Mr. Peter Hung (BBA 1980), the three young entrepreneurs eagerly shared with the audience the ups and downs of their business ventures amid fierce competition especially during the pandemic. They also listed out some of the key elements to run a successful start-up here in Hong Kong.

For students who are keen on entrepreneurship, the speakers encourage them to start exploring during the university life. “CUHK offers a wonderful platform where students could leverage abundant resources to give their entrepreneurial ideas a try. For instance, Centre for Entrepreneurship and Pi-Centre offer useful advice and connections that could help guide you to solidify preliminary ideas to a real business model,” they agreed.

To further promote the entrepreneurial spirit among CUHK-ers, CUHK Alumni Torch Fund joined hands with relevant alumni associations and departments in CUHK, and launched the CUHK Entrepreneurs Alliance (CUEA), an alliance that aims to strengthen the network of CUHK alumni and faculty who are keen on the topic and share valuable resources through talks, meet-ups and interactions.
