Hosted for the third year in a row by The Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA), RBC Race for the Kids Hong Kong 2016 concluded on Sunday, 4 December 2016 at Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village in Ma On Shan.

CUHK Business School was honoured to be invited for the third year running as the sole supporting organisation from academia. Officiating guests at the opening ceremony included Ms. Florence Lai, Alumni and Corporate Affairs Director at CUHK Business School, along with Mrs. Gloria Lee, Shatin District Social Welfare Officer of Social Welfare Department; Ms. Lilian Law, JP, Executive Director of BGCA; Mr. Andrew Shum, Committee Member of BGCA; and Mr. Douglas Moore, CEO of Capital Markets Asia and Head of Investor and Treasury Services, Asia Pacific of the Royal Bank of Canada.

Themed ‘Heads Up!’, the event promoted quality family time engaged in healthy exercise for a good cause. Running in parallel with a fun-filled carnival were several race categories, including a Fun Run & Walk for the whole family. The event was a great success, with more than 3,500 participants raising over HK$1 million wholly towards BGCA’s services for children with special educational needs at the Tai Po Early Education and Training Centre.

Ms. Florence Lai remarked, “The Business School is proud to once again be a supporting partner of this meaningful initiative. I was delighted to count our enthusiastic alumni and students among the racers, and particularly thrilled to watch our alumna Ms. Audrey Au (BBA in Professional Accountancy 2002) win the 10 km Female Individual Timed Race. Congratulations!”

CUHK Business School appreciates the opportunity to contribute to the betterment of our children. “We look forward to working closely with BGCA in the future!” Ms. Lai added.
