Undergraduates Set Sail for a Dynamic Learning Journey at CUHK Business School

This year, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School proudly welcomes a vibrant cohort of around 800 local and international undergraduate students from 23 countries and regions.

Ryan Ruian Chi (GBS, Year 1)

Ryan Ruian Chi, an IB top scorer, has been accepted to the Global Business Studies (GBS) programme.

As a young entrepreneur deeply engaged in projects revolving around sustainable growth, venture capital and new technologies, Ryan holds CUHK in high regard for the support it extends to student ventures. To him, CUHK is “a hub for thinkers, explorers, and innovators.” From his business experiences, Ryan has realised the importance of being able to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and adapt different business models with agility. He believes that the rigorous programme design, the closely-knit cohort, the unparalleled international network, and the dynamic resources that GBS offers will furnish him with the essential knowledge and skills for his entrepreneurial pursuits and further enrich his personal growth.

As the new journey unfolds, Ryan is excited to dedicate himself to academic excellence while applying classroom lessons to his venture projects.

Panitsiree Choochua (IBBA, Year 1)

Admitted to the Integrated BBA (IBBA) programme, Panitsiree is a recipient of the Belt and Road Scholarship from Thailand.

Panitsiree has nurtured a passion for business from a young age. Following in the footsteps of her sister, who is an alumna of the School, she has set her sights on CUHK Business School and is impressed by its combination of exceptional professionalism and a strong people-centric culture. The vibrant international community in Hong Kong, along with its proximity to her hometown, makes it an ideal destination for her studies.

Panitsiree is eager to fully immerse herself in the captivating learning environment and the talented and diverse community. She is determined to study to the best of her ability and acquire the business skills relevant to her future career.

Wing-lam Chan (PACC, Year 1)

An award-winning badminton player at the Hong Kong Sports Institute, Wing-lam was admitted to Professional Accountancy (PACC) programme through the Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission (SALSA) Scheme.

Wing-lam chose CUHK Business School as it offers unparalleled choices of specialisations for her major which is seldom found in other universities’ accounting programmes. She is also fascinated by the wide range of enrichment activities outside of her studies that the School offers. She eagerly looks forward to broadening her horizons and learning new ways of thinking and doing business in different cities.

Having devoted 13 years to badminton, Wing-lam has not only achieved outstanding results in overseas competitions but also learned valuable lessons and how to deal with adversities in life.

Wilson Man-hin Lung (QFIN, Year 1)

A Lang Lang International Music Foundation Young Scholar and a passionate archer, Wilson Man-hin Lung is a freshman in the Quantitative Finance (QFIN) programme.

He believes the comprehensive curriculum, which encompasses both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, coupled with abundant opportunities for industry exposure, job placements, and overseas exchange, will arm him with the ability to tackle real-life challenges and contribute to the advancement of the financial industry. He also values the extensive alumni network as a pivotal resource in shaping his future career prospect.

Wilson immensely enjoys playing the piano and finds it a creative outlet and a means of self-expression. Through archery, he enhances his capability of focusing, pushes his physical limits and connects deeply with his mental discipline.
