MBA Blog: Team Spirit Fostered Through Sports Competitions

Current MBA student Monica Dee says in her blog published in Financial Times that sports competitions offer good bonding experience and an opportunity for her and her classmates to meet MBA students from other schools, alumni and professionals.

In her blog published in Financial Times, Monica Dee, current student of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)’s MBA programme mentions that achieving good health and fitness through sports competitions can help sharpen MBA students’ minds and strengthen their team spirit.

In the past few weeks, Dee has participated in two of these competitions with other MBA students, alumni and even corporate professionals. The first one was a physically grueling competition that required teams of four to race all over Hong Kong, completing tasks at train stations and deciphering clues and riddles to get to the next station, until they ended up at the finishing line by the beach. Dee feels that the competition was a good bonding experience and an opportunity for her and her CUHK representatives to meet MBA students from other schools and professionals who participated in or organised the event.

The second one was a football tournament. It was also a good opportunity for Dee to strengthen her network. Though she did not participate as a player, she feels that it was an honour to be able to support the CUHK team.
