CUHK Business School Students Crowned Champion in CFA Institute Research Challenge – Hong Kong Local Final 2022-23
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School celebrates the success of the champion team of the CFA Institute Research Challenge – Hong Kong Local Final 2022-23. Congratulations to the winners!
Hosted by CFA Society Hong Kong, the annual competition offers university students hands-on mentoring and intensive training in company financial analysis. Working in teams, participating students took the role of research analysts and were assessed based on their ability to evaluate a stock, compose a research report, and present their recommendations.
This year, CUHK team clinched the title of the championship with their in-depth equity report on Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Limited and outstanding presentation among the six finalist teams. The team comprises five students from diverse disciplines, including Integrated BBA (IBBA), Global Economics and Finance (GLEF), Professional Accountancy (PACC), Economics (ECON) and Electronic Engineering (ELEG), which contributed to their well-rounded analysis.
The team attributed their success to humility, “We should stay humble to our teammates, competitors, and mentors. Winning is not the most important part of the competition; rather, it’s about learning and growing as individuals and as a team.” They also credited their achievement to the exceptional guidance from their mentor Mr William Leung and faculty advisor Dr Edwin Mok, who provided valuable insights and suggestions throughout the competition.
