Globalization is an ever-present force in our lives, drawing countries together in the marketplace and generating economic benefits for all to share. It is also increasing the need for future leaders with global business knowledge and international mindsets. CUHK has incorporated this important need into its business education through a wide range of initiatives. One of the major initiatives is our continuous commitment to partner with renowned overseas institutions to offer programs with a global focus. We currently offered two undergraduate global programs with dedicated focuses on global business and China-US business operations respectively; and a graduate global program at EMBA level which involves partner institutions spreading across four continents.
CUHK pioneered international affiliations in Hong Kong through the accreditation with the AACSB International in 1999, one of the first two business schools in Asia to be awarded such recognition. We also established the first chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma out of North America in 2000.
Apart from international programs and accreditation, we also committed to enhance students’ international experience through the class formation for program taken place in Hong Kong. Our full-time MBA program, comprising students from as many as 18 different countries/cities over the world, also form an excellent exchange platform among young executives from different origins.
We also offer exchange programs, both at undergraduate and graduate levels, with renowned overseas institutions, including the University of Chicago in the United States, McGill University in Canada, Peking University in China, the National University of Singapore, the University of Melbourne in Australia, the Hautes Etudes Commerciales in France and the London Business School in the United Kingdom, amongst others.
In terms of research, our faculty members are active contributors to top-tier, international peer-reviewed journals. Some also serve on the editorial boards of international journals to further expose them to the latest in international business thinking, just to name a few : Prof. Joseph Fan (Associate Editor of Journal of Corporate Finance); Prof. Jia Jian-min (Associate Editor of Operations Research); Prof. Zhao Xian-de (Associate Editor of Journal of Operations Management and Decision Sciences Journal), Prof. Shige Makino (Editorial Board member of Strategic Management Journal) and Prof. Kenneth Law (Consulting Editor of Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology).
