Dining in Style to Celebrate 20 Years of the MBA Alumni Association

On 8 September 2017, more than 120 MBA alumni and friends gathered to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the MBA Alumni Association at the World Trade Centre Club Hong Kong in Causeway Bay.

Attending as representatives of the Business School were: Ms. Stephanie Villemagne, Associate Dean for Graduate Programmes and Director of MBA Programmes; Prof. Andrew Chan, Head of Shaw College and Director of the EMBA Programme; Ms. Marie Courtois, Director of Graduate Career Management and Ms. Florence Lai, Director of Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office.

Starting off on a high note, Mr. Armstrong Lee, President of the MBA Alumni Association, gave his welcoming remarks. “I’d like to thank our fellow alumni for their tremendous support of the MBA Alumni Association over the last two decades. We look forward to your valued contributions that continue to make our network bigger and stronger.” He then invited several VIPs to join him onstage for a hearty toast. The highlight of the evening was the Guest of Honour’s keynote speech. Mr. James Lau, Acting Financial Secretary and Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, spoke on a much-anticipated topic, “Seizing Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area”, which drew rounds of applause from the audience.

Alumni enjoyed getting to know each other better in a casual setting, and the evening ended with an exciting lucky draw. Ms. Villemagne remarked, “I’d like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Organising Committee for putting together a fantastic opportunity to meet and chat with students, alumni and new friends. The dinner was a wonderful commemoration of a significant milestone in the history of CUHK Business School.”
