CUHK Business School announces the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award 2023-24

The FTEA was introduced in 2014-15 academic year and has since encouraged faculty members to strive to provide an optimal learning experience for students. The award is a testament to the School’s commitment to inspiring and nurturing the future generation of business leaders. Each year, the School’s students and academic staff nominate outstanding teachers or colleagues for consideration by a selection panel.

Award presentation ceremony

The award presentation ceremony was held on 28 April 2025, where Professor Zhou Lin, dean of CUHK Business School, presented the awards to the deserving recipients. The awardees expressed heartfelt gratitude to their colleagues, students, and the School for their unwavering support.

Reflections from the awardees

My deepest gratitude to the selection committee and my colleagues for this tremendous honour! Teaching is more than a task or profession—it is a mission. Three beliefs drive me in this mission: First, teaching generates huge positive social externalities in the long term. Second, teaching is not just about offering skills but also about shaping thoughtful and responsible citizens. Most importantly, teaching success is best measured not by exam grades or teaching evaluations, but by the spark of curiosity and discipline for lifelong learning that we ignite in students. Students give meaning to our profession through their career progress and achievements attained through our teaching.
