The School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Chinese Univeristy of Hong Kong has established the first local chapter of the Eta Sigma Delta (ESD), International Hospitality Management Honors Society. Members of this society are by invitation only. Only second and third year undergraduate students of the HMG Major with a cumulative GPA in the top quartile are eligible for membership. The fifteen induction ceremony of ESD and the School's Award Recognition ceremony where held on April 15, 2016. Mr. David Udell, Group President, Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts served as the Chapter Honeree of Eta Sigma Delta Honor Society.

Student Member ESD Eligibility
Eligible students must meet the following criteria:
- Students must have completed 50% of the credit hours required for graduation.
- Students must have officially declared Hospitality Management as their major.
- Students must be enrolled in an institution that belongs to International CHRIE.
- Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in a 4.0 system.
- Student must be in the top 20% of the class.
- Student must agree to uphold the values of excellence, leadership, creativity, service, and ethics.
